Mice come in many sizes, shapes and colors.  They may come with a wheel to control the scroll bars, 1, 2 or 3 buttons and with trackballs.  There are different ways to hook up a mouse to a computer, depending on the connector.  A mouse can use a PS/2 port, serial port, USB port or an infra-red port.
