CD-Rom drives read compact disks.  CD-R drives will record to recordable cds and CD-RW drives will wrote and re-write to rewritable cds.  The above CD-Rom features an eject button, a volume control knob and a headset / speaker jack.  CD-Roms can be internal or external, depending on your needs.  The CD-Rom pictured above is an internal drive.
