5.25" Floppy Drives read and write to 5.25" floppy disks.  These drives are almost nonexistent.  This is where the term "floppy" came from, as the media used in this drive was floppy in appearance.  Floppy drives can be internal or external, depending on your needs.  The floppy drive pictured above is an internal drive.
